AUGUST 2019 Lunch and Snacks Menu Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Same each week AM Snack Mini bagels, seasonal fruit, and string cheese Breakfast rounds with almond butter and apple slices Greek yogurt with granola and berries Peanut-butter banana toast Seasonal fruit and eggs
Week 1             (M 8/5 – F 8/9) Lunch Mediterranean bow-tie pasta with chicken, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled peppers and artichokes Turkey burgers, celery and carrot sticks, seasonal fruit Moo Shu Pork, quinoa, and seasonal fruit Dino nuggets, wild rice, fresh spinach and strawberry salad Sweet chili-lime fish (salmon or cod) with rice and zucchini
Week 2             (M 8/12 – F 8/16) Lunch Penne with beef and veggie ragu, mixed lettuce greens, and cherries Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with sugar snap peas and fresh baby carrots Cauliflower and carrot coconut curry with brown rice and mangos Quinoa, honey-lemon salmon (wild) with seasonal fruit Carne Asada salad with rice and beans.  Seasonal fruit.
Week 3              (M 8/19 – F 8/23) Lunch Italian pasta salad with tricolor rotini and diced vegetables with salad Caprese Pita bread, rainbow raw veggies with hummus. Seasonal fruit and cheese. Teriyaki Pineapple Tuna with quinoa, and a cucumber, celery, apple salad Broccoli or spinach quiche, grapes, mixed greens salad Bean and cheese burritos, red bell and corn, and avocado salad
Week 4             (M 8/26 – F 8/30) Lunch Summer garden pasta -zucchini, squash, tomato and noodles with parmesan and olive oil. Seasonal fruit. Grilled cheese sandwiches, broccoli salad, and melon kebabs Peanut-sesame slaw with soba noodles, chicken and vegetable potstickers, and plums Vegetarian chili, coleslaw, and corn bread Lentil Super tacos with purple cabbage, seasonal fruit, and refried beans
Same each week PM Snack “ants on a log” (Celery w/ peanutbutter and raisins) Rice cake and fresh veggies Class-made baked bread or muffin and seasonal fruit String cheese, crackers, and seasonal fruit (n/a)
Children can finish food from home at arrival in the morning (before 8:30am please).  You can bring snacks and lunch from home as long as it follows the food policy in the childcare agreement and is labeled with child’s name (lunchbox fine); tuition remains the same. * Whole grains are used for noodles, bread, tortillas, rice, crackers, etc. (natural or organic used when possible)
*If there is any religious or health preclusion for eating a certain food, I will substitute an appropriate alternative. You must let me know in written advance.
*Fruit and veggies are organic and seasonal / fresh when possible.
*Meat is either organic or all-natural (no antibiotics or hormones). Fish is wild-caught.
*Milk is always organic and offered during lunch and snacks only.  Filtered water is available all other times.
Menu items or a meal listed above may be substituted or switched around depending on seasonal availability.
