Welcome Families!

Our goal is to create a joyful and enriching experience for your child’s development with a harmony between free play, self-directed learning, and structured activities. We have a unique program that offers an environment of a small group of peers (ages 2-5) within a class and a low teacher to student ratio (1:6).  Additionally, we have a rare preschool program that offers a variety of educational approaches such as Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Nature-based Learning!

Charissa is an exceptional caregiver with a sincere commitment to helping children develop creativity, autonomy and a genuine love of learning. She has an enormous range as an early childhood educator and experienced college-level academic counselor and that informs her understanding of how to nurture the cognitive and social-emotional skills that lead to lifelong success. She is unflustered and unflaggingly patient, which is possibly the most important quality in a daycare provider!! I know from my own experience with littles just how challenging it can be to keep your cool and model the behavior you are trying to encourage in them. Charissa is that rock in the storm. It is such a big decision choosing a daycare and you have to know that you are leaving your child somewhere safe, loving, and enriching. Avalon offers all that and more 🙂  * 5-star review by Sarah D.  via Yelp 4/20/19
